Differentiated Clinical Excellence
Above all, we have the privilege of improving patients’ lives through the science and art of orthodontics.
The Forum’s clinical program is designed to support this by keeping you and your team at the forefront of innovation in an array of new clinical applications, techniques, approaches, and methods—all focused on efficiently achieving aspirational finishes on cases across the orthodontic spectrum.
Dr. Tim Bandeen
Customized Treatment—A Patient-First Approach and Airway Implications
Dr. Bandeen is one of the most experienced Insignia providers in the world and his treatment approach over the past several years has increasingly shifted towards an enhanced focus on planning for and managing airway and sleep apnea considerations. In this session, he will convey the practice and patient effects of using Insignia, talking through how significantly increasing production and reducing appointments has empowered he and his team to provide a world class, patient-first approach. He will then disclose and review his Airway treatment philosophy, and repeatable treatment planning techniques, while demonstrating the results seen in his patients evidenced by numerous case examples. Join Dr. Bandeen as he reveals his roadmap for success that has led to better patient results, increased referrals, a more engaged team, and a more predictable workday.
Dr. Frank Bogdan
Challenging Cases—Mechanics, Pearls, & Troubleshooting
The focus of this session will be on the clinical management and trouble-shooting of challenging cases in non-growing patients. The key is low force treatment mechanics that results in modeling of alveolar bone (Barron & Bogdan, Clin. Imp. Vol. 20, no. 1, Summer 2017). Dr. Bogdan will further address pushing the envelope in Class II and Class III cases, managing the secondary force system in PSL (setting up the case), and the keys to evaluating and ‘pulling the trigger’ in borderline extraction cases with confidence. Throughout the session, mechanics and treatment pearls focusing on treatment efficiency will be detailed for each case.
Dr. Todd Bovenizer
Finesse Your Finishes and Conquer Complex Cases
In this session, Dr. Bovenizer will detail his planning, mechanics, and tactics used to set complex cases up for success and see them through to next-level finishes. He will review the initial case set up and demonstrate how to read and react during treatment, including approaches to develop mastery of the progress pan and repo. Keeping teeth upright and using auxiliary appliances, SS wires, and gingival and hard tissue contouring to finish and detail your cases will be areas of focus. Finally, opportunities to leverage TADs to IMPACT and DIFFERENTIATE your practice will be explored along with tips and tricks to simplify TAD mechanics to efficiently achieve beautiful results.
Dr. Arthur Kammerman
Damon System Bracket Placement for Beautiful Smiles and Optimal Case Management (Hands-On)
This hands-on workshop will detail "smile arc" bracket placement for quality finishes and review recommended mechanics and protocols for specific malocclusions, including vertical development and control with disarticulation and early light elastics. Participants will learn how to produce consistent beautiful "smile arc" smiles while enjoying the amazing benefits of PSL mechanics using the Damon System.
Dr. Stuart Frost
Dr. Frost will be supporting Dr. Kammerman in this session.
Dr. Jeff Kozlowski
Dance Like Honeybees, Flow Like Water—Clinical Efficiency, Zen Scheduling, and the Power of Now
In this presentation, Dr. Kozlowski will show you how to master efficiency by focusing on a whole team approach to moving through your clinical day. Starting with the principle of "no wasted time" you will learn how to enhance your clinical mechanics and decision making, empower your team to work together with a hive mentality, and get the most out of every appointment. If you feel like you are running on the orthodontic hamster wheel, this presentation is exactly what you need to become more efficient.
Dr. Daniel Klauer
Integrating Myofunctional Therapy
In this follow up to Dr. Klauer’s General Session Presentation, he will further explore the need for Myofunctional Therapy in the orthodontic practice. Dr. Klauer will review common treatment plans, indications, and how to go about incorporating this into your practice. He will give you a behind the scenes look on how he brought his Myofunctional Therapy in house and how it’s running full time now.
Dr. Mike Mayhew
Two Is Better Than One, Damon Q2 Improvements and Case Reports
The engineering and manufacturing improvements introduced with Damon Q2 were made with efficiency in achievement of clinical excellence in mind. Dr. Mayhew will review the evolution of the Damon System appliances, discuss the enhancements made with Q2, and demonstrate the efficacies of these changes with clinical case results. Tips and tricks along with the mechanics to efficiently achieve great results will be highlighted throughout each case presentation.
Dr. Andrés Perdomo
Top Ten Tips for Finishing Your Cases Successfully
In this session, Dr. Perdomo will provide his top tips for finishing cases more beautifully and efficiently. He will review common mistakes that complicate PSL finishes and detail steps on how to avoid them. He’ll then focus on addressing midline issues, proper torque selection for challenging cases, the most common repositions, retention procedures in difficult cases, and more. Participants will walk away with new tricks in their toolkit to identify potential issues and address them before they come to fruition, allowing for better results to be achieved in fewer visits.
The Future of Archwire Technology – An Innovation 30 years in the making (Combined Lecture)
For over three-decades orthodontists have dreamed of an archwire that could deliver the optimal force to each tooth simultaneously. An effective multi-force archwire has the potential to reduce overall treatment time and unlock tremendous value via clinical efficiency. Ormco is excited to introduce the future of archwire technology—SmartArch™. Join Drs. Cosse, Olsen, and Roberts as they preview this coming laser engineered archwire that will shape the future of Orthodontics for years to come and expand your vision of what’s possible.
